John Naeole – MMA Training Coach
Personal Trainer – I was born in Kaneohe, Hawaii in 1975. At the age of 17 I started training under coach Bob Bristow, at the Kaneohe Boxing Club. At the age of 18 I started competing in the Honolulu amateur boxing league. At the age of 19 I gained interest in kickboxing and started training under Bob Smith. Bob Smith was a 7th degree black belt in Taekwondo and owner of Bob Smith Taekwondo. Bob Smith was a welterweight kickboxer and ranked 7th in the world. He was also the training partner of Kickboxing Heavyweight World Champion, Dennis Alexio.At the age of 24 I joined the HMC Fight team. HMC head coach was Haru Shiminishi, aka “Trainer of Champions.” Haru trained over 10 world champions in Boxing, Muay Thai, Kickboxing and MMA. I trained and started my professional career in MMA under Sensei Haru.Due to multiple injuries suffered over the years of training in combat sports, I was forced to take a early retirement from fighting at the age of 26. At this time I continued to help other fighters train and started coaching.I been coaching since 2003 and also started training in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Lopez Martial Arts. I am currently a purple belt in BJJ and I am also the kickboxing and MMA head coach at Lopez Martial Arts.
